Thomas Schoendorf, Esq. Principal Counsel

Bio

Thomas Schoendorf is a seasoned trial attorney whose practice is defined by sound judgment, preparation, and a steady command of the courtroom. Thomas brings a practical understanding of litigation, an ability to identify the issues that will ultimately drive the outcome, and the confidence to advocate firmly without losing sight of efficiency, proportionality, or the client’s broader objectives.

Thomas represents individuals, businesses, insurers, and public entities in a wide range of civil disputes. Whether developing a case from its earliest stages, examining witnesses, arguing a critical motion, negotiating a resolution, or presenting a matter at trial, he approaches each engagement with the same purpose: to place the client in the strongest possible position.

Having served as first-chair counsel in civil jury trials and argued before the New Jersey Appellate Division, Thomas brings meaningful courtroom experience to every matter he handles. His background also includes complex personal injury defense, commercial and contractual disputes, automobile litigation, municipal and public-entity claims, constitutional matters, and landlord-tenant proceedings. This breadth of experience allows him to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives, anticipate opposing strategies, and offer clients advice grounded in both legal analysis and real-world litigation experience.

Thomas’s approach is also deeply relational. He believes clients should understand not only what is happening in their case, but why each decision matters. He is known for being accessible, candid, and direct, providing clear guidance while remaining attentive to the personal, financial, and operational consequences that often accompany litigation.

Education

A former law clerk to the Honorable Michael C. Gaus of the Superior Court of New Jersey and a former judicial extern to the Honorable John A. Conte, Thomas developed an early appreciation for the way courts assess credibility, evidence, advocacy, and judgment. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star.

At Schoendorf Law, Thomas brings together the qualities clients value most in trial counsel: experience, perspective, responsiveness, and the willingness to stand firm when it matters most.
